What We're Doing to Keep Our Immunity Strong

We're several weeks into a very, very difficult and uncertain time. Below I’ve outlined steps my husband and I have taken to keep our immunity strong. We have never been so grateful for the good health we have worked so hard to achieve and for the knowledge of how to best strengthen our immune systems!
Here’s what we do.
Get plenty of sleep. We try to hit the pillow by 10 PM every night.
Eat a whole foods diet to minimize toxins and give the body the nutrition it desperately needs.
Keep intake of refined sugar to an absolute minimum. Sugar significantly depresses the immune system. We don't buy sweets other than fruit (apples, blueberries, lemons), an occasional white chocolate bar, and an occasional pint of coconut ice cream.
Eliminate dairy from our diets (yes, I'm really missing yogurt and cheese!) because consumption of dairy causes mucus to accumulate in the lungs no matter how healthy you are.
Take nutritional supplements to address our unique needs. The following is my program. (Joel is on a completely different program because his needs are different from mine.) Multizyme (Standard Process) offers enzymes to optimize digestion. Lactic Acid Yeast (Standard Process) is a pre/probiotic and great for the bowels. A-F Betafood (also from Standard Process) gives my gall bladder much needed assistance. Homeopathic drops called Adrenal-Tone (Energetix) helps my adrenal glands. Core Berberine (Energetix) is herbal and helps with a low-grade immune challenge. Healthy fats are great for women in perimenopause, so I take a flax oil supplement. Finally, I currently take a flower essence supplement for worry and uncertainty... sigh....
Take additional supplements to handle potential exposure to pathogents including zinc (we have several brands at CFNH), and vitamins D3 and K2. I really love Vitamin D3-K2 Lipospray (Energetix).
"Supplement" with medicinal foods such as lemon juice shots (a great natural food source of Vitamin C) and lots of fresh garlic! Both are fantastic for the immune system, among other things.
Drink plenty of pure water. We use a Berkey filter at home that does a terrific job filtering harmful toxins from our tap water.
Drink two or three ounces of camel milk every day. Yes, Camel Milk! Scientists in Europe have identified an antibody that is capable of neutralizing certain viruses. It's found in the milk of animals in the llama family, including camels. The milk comes in powder form and is pure white. It tastes a lot like cow's milk but is superior to cow's milk in many ways - for one, it's more easily digested. Camelicious, as the brand name is called, is available from us at CFNH.
Get safe sun exposure on warmer, sunnier days.
Take very warm/hot Epsom salt baths. They're great for taking in magnesium through the skin. Great as a detox. And that hot soak is exceptional to raise the body temperature higher than any virus can survive.
Use safe hand sanitizer. We take precautions when venturing out to the grocery store, but I take extra care to use Pure Haven’s hand sanitizer. It is particularly safe because it’s made from organic cane alcohol which does not harm when absorbed into the skin. If it’s not in stock, I suggest ordering it (it’s worth the wait) and consider Pure Haven’s Hands On the Go.
Reduce mental and physical stress by riding my bicycle, planting my garden, doing yard work, keeping in touch with my friends, taking live yoga classes online, and something I hadn't done in ages - star gazing...
Handle the challenge of being quarantined together by taking a moment or two every day to express something we appreciate about the other person. It has done wonders for our relationship and level of happiness as we negotiate being together more than ever! ❤️
